ICOP Model 20/20(-W)

Q My wireless mic does not seem to be syncing, or recording sound and videos? How can I correct this?
A

(Applies to non-ICOP EXTREME Wireless Mics only)

First, check that there are no other wireless mics (wmics) in the vicinity of your unit that are in their chargers. If you try to sync a wmic with other wmic's nearby being charged, you are likely to sync your car with one of them rather than your own. Next, make sure your RHT is at least 75% charged. You will see 3 amber lights blink consecutively, then pause and repeat when your RHT is in the charger at 75% (every consecutive amber blink is 25% charged). Then unplug the RJ-45 cable from your antenna (ICT) for at least 5 minutes. When this is done, repeat the synch process, again making sure no other RHT's are charging in the area. To sync:

1.
Place the RHT into the charger (ICC).
2.
Once the amber light starts to blink on the RHT, press the SYNC button on the ICT for 1 second.
3.
The ICT Green LED will illuminate.
4.
The amber LED on the RHT will continue to flash its charge status, then blink rapidly (4-6 times) as it begins to sync.
5.
When the Green LED turns off on the ICT, the RHT is now synced. Remove it from the charger, and power it on. Press REC on the RHT to do a test recording.

Q
Can I use a power timer, or power cutoff switch to power down the ICOP Model 20/20(-W) so it doesn't drain my battery?
A

No. Cutting the power unexpectedly on an ICOP Model 20/20 will cause the unit to not write the correct 'end of event' data onto the HDDM, and will likely corrupt your event files. As the ICOP Model 20/20 is always caching a 1 minute pre-record, cutting power from the system unexpectedly does not allow the system to deinitialize correctly. The ICOP Model 20/20 is designed to shut itself off after 2 hours of no use (radio off; no buttons pressed) to avoid excessive battery drainage. The best practice is to always shut the unit down by using the power button on the ICOP Model 20/20.

Server and Software

Q
When I try to download my HDDM, I get an error that reads "Cannot connect to ICOP adapter". What does this mean?
A
First make sure you're logged into your PC or server as a Local Administrator. You need administrative rights to use the HDDM Docking Station. Then check to make sure both power and USB cable have good connections on each end. Finally, undock the HDDM from the cradle, unplug the DC power adapter from the cradle, wait 10 seconds, and plug it in again. If you're still having problems, please call ICOP Tech Support at (866)621-5500.

Q
When I try to login to PC Viewer for the first time, it asks me for an SQL server login instead of a PC Viewer login. What is wrong?
A
In order for the database to be set up correctly, your PC or server MUST be rebooted immediately after installing PC Viewer. If you try to run the program before you reboot, you will receive the resulting SQL login message. To correct this problem, you need to completely uninstall ICOP PC Viewer and Microsoft SQL Server, and reinstall. There are instructions for this on your ICOP CD-ROM or you can download the PC Viewer instructions. If you're still having problems, please call ICOP Tech Support at (866) 621-5500.

Q
When trying to archive videos from my PC or server with PC Viewer, I'm getting an error that says "Invalid Date Char Set". What does this mean?
A
There is an incorrect date path in your database. Either manually select an earlier or later start and end date for your archiving, or begin archiving again after the 1st of the month.

Q
I am getting "low disk space" errors from Windows when trying to download an HDDM. What is wrong?
A
You are most likely running out of space on your current selected archive location in System Settings. Select an alternate archive location, or add storage capacity to your current volume.

Q
When I try to archive, I get an error that says "invalid file path", and the archiving just stops with an error. Why does this happen?
A
This can happen when video files are manually deleted OR moved from the PC or server without using PC Viewer's CLEAR EVENT function in the DB (database). The correct way to permanently delete videos is to select them in the DB, use the right arrow key to change the "K" to an "X" in the KEEP column. Once you've marked all of your videos for deletion with the "X", click the CLEAR EVENTS button to delete them. You will be asked to confirm or cancel at this point. If you click OK, every video file and it's corresponding DB entry marked with an "X" will be permanently deleted from the system. If files are deleted (or moved) from the PC or server by any other means, you will be left with DB entries that point to files that no longer exist (or have been moved), which causes the above error. The solution is to delete those DB entries who's video files have been removed or deleted. Once there are no longer bad paths for the DB events in your archive range, archiving will work successfully.

Q
Why doesn’t the loader login pop-up when I insert my HDDM?
A
First, look in your taskbar to make sure that Loader.exe (blue laptop icon) is running then check that the docking station is receiving power. Make sure a network drive (connected or disconnected) or physical drive isn't using the same drive letter as your HDDM in My Computer. If you’re still having problems, please call ICOP Tech Support at (866) 621-5500.
